Louise Mcvay

July 31, 1939 — January 8, 2023

Mary Louise Johnson McVay, 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 8, 2023. She was born on July 31, 1939 in Tylertown, MS, but lived most of her life in Chickasaw and then Satsuma, AL. Louise received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master's Degree from the University of South Alabama. She retired from Satsuma High School as a teacher in the Special Education Program. She was a member of Chickasaw United Methodist Church. She loved traveling, sewing, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewitt W. Johnson and Thelma Stringer Johnson. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Roger S. McVay; her children, Michael McVay (Lee Ann) and Steven McVay (Kelley); her grandchildren, Emily Rodgers (Blakley), Connor McVay (Jennifer), and Lee Michael McVay; and her great-grandchildren, Tinsley Rodgers, Brooks Rodgers, and Mac McVay.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Attendees are asked to be at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home by 1:45 p.m. to line up for the procession to the gravesite.
