Louise D. Powell, a longtime resident of Theodore, AL and originally from Cedartown, GA joined our Lord in heaven on Tuesday. She was the mother of two boys, homemaker and retired Insurance person for State Farm. She was a member of First Baptist Church Theodore where she taught Sunday School and was involved in other ministries. She was also a member of the Port City Craftsman. She is preceded in death by her husband George L. Powell Jr.; parents Thurston and Wanda Dingler of Cedar Town, GA. She is survived by her brother James Dingler and sister-in-law Debra Dingler of Satsuma, AL; sons: Kenneth G. Powell (Sharon) and Roger J. Powell (April); cousin, Jackie Stork; grandchildren, Daniel R. Powell, Brian M. Powell, Audrey D. Powell, Trenton L. Powell, and Megan D. Powell; great-grandchildren: Genevieve M. Powell, Lydia M. Powell, Evelyn R. Powell, and Hunter L. Powell; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel with graveside following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Theodore.
