Lowery Williams

Lowery Orman Butch Williams, born in Ruleville, MS June 26, 1938, and current resident of Dauphin Island, AL, passed away August 19, 2014 surrounded by his family after a long battle with Alzheimers and Parkinson. He was a 1957 graduate of Murphy High School. Butch worked in the ILAMSSA Union at the Alabama State Docks and retired after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl Williams and Thelma Ruth Owen Williams. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cathy Lynn Shivers Williams his daughter, Sherry Mark Smith his stepson, Charles Jennifer Anderson, Jr. five grandchildren, Carrie, Jessica, Evan, Taylor and Kaleigh three greatgrandchildren, Hannah, Ava and Ali two sisters, Patsy Paul Young and Sandy Johnson his beloved canine companion, Corky nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation and gratitude to Butchs sister, Sandy Johnson, and his granddaughter, Taylor Anderson, and the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their care and support during Butchs final days. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to an animal charity of your choice. The family will receive friends Friday, August 22, 2014 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
