He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army 78th Fighter Group in Duxford, England. He worked with the Alabama State Department of Revenue for thirty-five years. He enjoyed traveling, reading, and especially gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Frances Radford Neighbors; his parents, James and Nellie Neighbors; his siblings Laura Martin, Louise Galyon, and Bettie Neighbors. He is survived by his two daughters Nancy (Steve) Walker and Joyce (Steve) Taylor; grandchildren Devin (Christine) Walker, Deanna (Evan) Seaman, Chris (Sawyer) Taylor, Kelsey (Carson) Smith; as well as six great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service at Mobile Memorial Gardens, Friday, September 8, 2017 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Springhill Baptist Church in his memory.
