Margaret Elizabeth Akridge, age 85, a native of Mobile, AL and resident of Mobile and Baldwin counties, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017. Mrs. Akridge was a graduate of Mobile County High School in Grand Bay and a student at Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bayou La Batre and also attended Independent Methodist Church close to her home. Her favorite scripture was Colossians 20, "So you have everything when you have Jesus Christ." Mrs. Akridge was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her quiet and gracious personality made her faith evident in her daily life and to all who knew her. She left a legacy of love and perseverance, all demonstrating her faith and trust in Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Clyde Partridge; sister, Ruth Isham. She is survived by her husband, Clavis Akridge; three daughters, Sharon Akridge, Beverly (David) Harding and Peggy (Pat) Dawson; two sisters, Clydene Myer and Joanne Sprinkle; four grandchildren, Nikki Harwell, Daniel Kyte, Joshua Harding and Matthew Harding; four great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM followed funeral services in the Chapel. Interment will be in Odd Fellow Cemetery in Bayou La Batre. The family wishes to thank Dr. David Pate and his staff for their compassionate care.
