Loving mother Margaret Anne Fowler Cheesbro passed away on October 25, 2020, surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born to (and was predeceased by) George Benjamin Fowler and Catherine Waltz Fowler at Gorgas Hospital in the Panama Canal Zone. She later lived in France, Germany, Ohio, and Alabama.
Margaret is survived by her children Heather Cheesbro (LA) and Benjamin Cheesbro (married to Whitney Cheesbro, parents to her grandsons George and William) (GA). She is also survived by her sisters Anna Bonneau (pre-deceased by brother-in-law John Bonneau) (OH), Rosita Yurcisin (and brother-in-law George Yurcisin), Mona Ganoe (and partner Allen Lawrence) and brother George Benjamin Fowler (and sister-in-law Rita Fowler) (TN), as well as nieces Heidi, Danielle, Megan, Sadie and Monica, and their spouses.
Margaret graduated with an Associate’s Degree from Clark State College in Springfield, Ohio, and retired after over two decades of working for the Alabama Department of Human Resources.
In addition to being wickedly smart and funny, Margaret loved fabric, quilting, her (and all) cats, reading, music, metal detecting, photography (and just about every other interesting hobby), well-fried oysters, coffee, and her family and friends.
Margaret will be interred at a graveside ceremony at Mobile Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. Those attending are asked to meet at 11:45 am at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and vehicles will caravan to the graveside. Donations to the Mobile SPCA or the American Humane Society are requested in lieu of flowers.
