Margaret Virginia VanHouten Winkler

Margaret Winkler, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2018 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Winkler; her parents, Margaret and Carl VanHouten, Sr., step-father, Anthony Mostransky; her brothers, Carl VanHouten, Jr., R. Edward VanHouten and her sisters, Mary York and Tony Trumbull. She was a graduate of Murphy High School and the University of Alabama with a degree in Home Economics followed by certification as a medical technologist. She retired from USA Women's and Children's Hospital as a Medical Technologist but continued to work part time until last year. She was an active member at All Saints Episcopal Church; if the doors were open, she was there. She served on the Altar Guild, community outreach programs, including Golden Circle and Family Promise of Coastal Alabama. She is survived by her children, Rory Winkler, Sara Winkler Little (David), Leigh Winkler Odom (Mike), Randall Winkler (Cynthia), Bart Winkler (Gabbie); grandchildren, Barklie Winkler Hebert (Skip), Brooke Winkler Parsons (Billy), Margaret Little Eason (Michael), Ryan Odom (Charissa), Garett Odom, Landon Odom (Jenna), Travis Winkler, Taylor Winkler, Gavin Street, Chase Winkler, Riley Street, Walker Winkler; great-grandchildren, Chandler Hebert, Calen Hebert, Tripp Parsons, Luke Odom, Quinn Odom; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 151 S. Ann St., Mobile, AL 36604, in the Walter K. Smith Room at 10:00, followed by the service at 11:00 in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to All Saints Episcopal Church, 151 S.
