Marie was born on 03/20/1921, three months after her parents, Auguste and Jeanne Diacre Poiroux
migrated to Irvington, AL from Manitoba, Canada. She is predeceased by her parents and 11 siblings, Clement, Rene, Maurice, Paul, Joseph, Henry, Louis and Andre Poiroux, Madeleine McCollough and Jane Castelin, and their spouses; her husbands: Woodrow Wilson (father of her children) and Ernest White: children: Edmund and Woodrow William Wilson, Jeannette Wilson Anglin and Grandchildren: Starla Huber, Gregory Huber and Infant Brittany Anglin. Marie owned and operated a convenience store in Irvington and later worked for 9 years at Vanity Fair, however, most of her early lifetime was spent raising her big family. She is survived by her children, Theresa (Sidney) Orrell, Doris (Jerry) Davis, Christine (Drew) Whiteley, Alvin (Gail) Wilson, Larry (Charlotte) Wilson, Julie (Ron) Shewmake, Danny (Angie) Wilson, Cheryl (Mike) Henderson and Eddie (Paula) Wilson; 30 Grandchildren; 52 Great Grandchildren; 28 Great, Great Grandchildren and 2 Great, Great, Great Grandchildren, a total of 124 direct descendants; two Step Children, Junie Raymond (Gus Donohue) and Randal White; 2 Step Grandchildren and 5 Step Great Grandchildren. Marie was a devout Catholic, a founding member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and spent her last years praying daily TV Mass, the Rosary and as a Prayer Warrior for family and friends. Many of her Grandchildren are very devoted to this Special Grandmother, having spent after school and summers with her. She instilled in her family to put God first in their lives and her legacy continues on in the family she leaves behind. She was here over 100 years but that still was not long enough. She will be so greatly missed, but forever in our hearts.
Visitation: Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 5 pm - 7 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 6040 Three Notch Rd. Mobile, AL 36619.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Monday, September 13, 2021 from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 10 am, 4980 St Vincent Drive, Mobile.
Interment: Oddfellows Cemetery, Bayou La Batre, AL
