Marion Vardas Stoltenberg, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the age of 86. Marion was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church; volunteered in the Mobile Infirmary Hospital Gift Shop for over 14 years; was formerly employed at Brookley Air Force Base and later retired as Senior Administrative Assistant to the Plant Manager of DuPont after over 25 years of service; was queen of a mystic society; loved to sew and garden flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Vardas and Irma Malone Vardas; her husband of 50+ years, John Henry Stoltenberg; and her sister, Anne Vardas Webster. Her survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Stoltenberg Costanza and her husband, Michael Scott Costanza; three grandsons, Nicholas Scott Costanza, Joseph Michael Costanza and John Russell Costanza; her brother, Stanley Manuel Vardas, and his wife, JoAnn Webster; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Friday, July 27, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor David Witt, will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10:00 AM from Our Savior Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 5101 Government Blvd., Mobile, AL 36693.
