Mark Edmon Drinkard, born June 14,1951, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on February 15, 2018. He was the firstborn son of Waverly and Margaret Drinkard, born in Houston and raised in Deer Park Texas. Mark spent most of his working life as a Master Printer in the Dallas area, settling down in Kaufman, Texas. He retired from printing in 2012 and then moved to Mobile Alabama in 2016 with his wife Gwen. She was the love of his life for 42 years. Mark was a kind soul with an easy laugh and smile; he never met a stranger. He loved music and played in a garage band as a teen. He loved to surf and spent time in California learning to master the sport, and always loved fishing with friends. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, whether the team struggled or won the Super Bowl, the Cowboys were still number 1. Mark loved spending time with his family and his pet chihuahua, Jake; they were inseparable. He loved technology and was an early adopter of all things Apple combining his love of computers and photography. If Mark was around, so was his camera. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Waverly Drinkard. He is survived by his wife Gwen, his mother Margaret, sister Susan Diermann, sons Shane and Jeff Drinkard, stepson Danny Racine, grandchildren Caleb Drinkard, Hannah Drinkard, Dylan Racine, Faith Racine, and countless friends. Mark's celebration of life will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Monday February 19, 2018 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with internment following in the cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10am on February 19 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilefuneralservice.com.
