Mark Wendall Jenkins, a native of Dayton, Ohio and longtime resident of Chunchula, AL, died Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the age of 63. Mark, a man blessed with musical talent, family and friends, left this world to kiss the hands that blessed him. He is now living the promise of Jesus, of eternal life, returning home into the warm loving celebration with those who were waiting for him. He was formerly employed by the Mobile Press-Register and was a US Army Veteran who served our country for 7 years and 11 months. He loved his country and was proud to serve. His survivors include his wife, April Lee Miller Jenkins; one son, Jamie (Julene) Jenkins; two step-sons, Chris A. (Mandi) Maddox and Curtis D. (Andrea) Cook; two sisters, Cathy Sue ("Jerry") Story and Teresa Gail (Derick) Alday; one brother, Harold Earnest Jenkins; 5 grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mr. Jenkins' name be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 16641 Pine Road, Citronelle, AL 36522. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Marvin Robinson, will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow the service in Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 State Highway 225, Spanish Fort, AL 36527. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
