Marlene Angelique Hill Whisenhant, a native of Ville Platte, LA and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the age of 87. She was employed by Constantine’s on Government Street as a manager and hostess for many years. Marlene was very witty and charming, was very proud of her Cajun heritage and loved Zydeco music. She was an awesome cook, enjoyed going to the casinos, watching hummingbirds and spending quality time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Didier Hill and Mable Smith Hill; her husband, George Henry Whisenhant and three sisters. Her survivors include her children, Robin E. (Teresa) Barnett, Sara L (Andy) Hall and Ada K. Whisenhant; four grandchildren, Matthew A. (Morgan) Whisenhant, Alexander D. (Amanda) Whisenhant, Jeffrey Andrew (Allison) Hall and Ashley N. (Paul) Kleinschrodt; one sister, Carolyn Burns; numerous great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. If attending, please comply with social distancing guidelines.
