Martha Carolyn Hatch - August 22, 1929 - October 28, 2017
Martha Carolyn Hatch (née Highsmith), Carolyn to her friends, passed away quietly after a long life and a brief illness. A native of Jacksonville, Florida and a longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama, Carolyn earned her bachelors (Cum Laude) and masters degree from the University of South Alabama and served as an Internal Revenue Service agent after raising six children as the wife of a Coast Guard Master Chief Petty Officer. Carolyn is preceded in death by husband Philip Warren Hatch, son Robin Philip Hatch, daughter Lynn Lee Tanner, grandson Lloyd "Dale" Chestang, sisters Ginger, Hazel, Vera, and brother James. She is survived by sons Richard Warren Hatch (Lynne), Gerald Wayne Hatch (Kathy), Scott Thomas Hatch (Ruby) and Christopher Jon Hatch (Moira), sister Louise Stewart (Henry), and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation is 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with memorial services at 2 p.m,. Donations to Loaves and Fishes in lieu of flowers.
