Mary Massengale

Mary Joanne Harbin Arnett Massengale, 73, of Irvington, AL passed away on October 3, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family. Born in Flomaton, AL June 10, 1948. She later moved to Mobile, AL. Joanne graduated from Murphy High School in 1966 with honors.

Joanne was a precious wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a big Alabama fan, ROLL TIDE! Joanne loved spending time with her family and friends. Her kids were her world, and she always had a smile on her face. Joanne was part of the Mystic Stripers of Mobile Mardi Gras for several years. She lived for Mardi Gras. Her last job was as a caregiver for numerous people as she loved helping others. Joanne will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew and loved her. Special thanks to Joni Berggren and Nicole Sprinkle for taking care of her the last 7 months.

Those left to cherish Joanne's memory include her loving husband of 22 years, Douglas E Massengale Jr of Irvington, AL. Two sons, Jack (Tammy) Monte of Silverhill and David Monte of Mobile, Three daughters, Angel (Dale) Roberts of Semmes and her twin baby girls. Tina (James) Conner of Sulphur, LA and Katie (Andrew) Cordova of Jonesboro, AR. Nine grandchildren, Trey (Taylor), Josh (Jessica), Hunter, Nick, Haylee, Luke, Bane, Katie and Adam. Eight great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Dru, Dominic, Waylon, Vivian, Griffin, Eli, and Olivia. She loved all so much.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Yukers Harbin and Frank Mixon Harbin Sr., paternal grandparents Benjamin H. and Katherine M. Harbin, maternal grandparents Mary (Mayme) Cain Yukers and George Yukers Sr and one brother Frank (Mickey) Harbin Jr.

Pallbearers are grandsons Trey Monte, Josh Monte, Hunter Monte, Nick Roberts. Son-in-laws Dale Roberts, James Conner, and Andrew Cordova.

Funeral arrangements will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation from 10:00 am until the 12:00 pm service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
