Mary Mcfadden

Mary Catherine Heim McFadden - May 14, 1929 - September 22, 2015. Catherine McFadden, a native of Birmingham, Alabama and a longtime resident of Mobile, after a long illness laid down her cross and took up her crown at home in Daphne, Alabama, where she had lived for eleven years. She was preceded in death by her parents, George E. and Ruby Sumerlin Heim, two brothers; Robert E. (Jean) Heim of Mobile, AL and Edison Leroy (Lucy) Heim of Satellite Beach, FL. Catherine is survived by her husband, Albert Franklin "Frank" McFadden, Sr. of Daphne, AL, her daughter, Melissa Ann (Ron) Palmer of Loxley, AL, her son, Albert Franklin (Hope) McFadden, Jr. of Mobile, AL, her grandchildren; Anna McFadden (Adam) Campbell, Albert Franklin McFadden, III, Jessica Palmer, Christi Palmer, brother George Raymond Heim of Saraland, AL, sister-in-law Jean Heim of Mobile, AL, a special first cousin Norma Hawkins of Pensacola, FL and devoted nieces and nephews. Catherine spent most of her career in office management of Mobile physicians having retired from the office of Larry S. McGee, Jr., MD. She was a devoted mother and wife for her family and always wanted the best that life could offer for her children, first and foremost, wanting them to have a faith in Christ that would sustain them throughout their lives. Before her career in the medical field, she served as one of the first secretaries for her church at the time, Cottage Hill Baptist Church in Mobile, AL. Catherine excelled in all that she did, from being an excellent student to managing the front offices of the physicians where she was employed. She thoroughly enjoyed her role as grandmother, and spent much of her time and energy with her grandchildren. She gave unselfishly to her family and friends, and will no doubt be receiving her rewards in heaven. The family greatly appreciates all of the caregivers and Springhill Hospice Services who attended her in her final days of home. Pallbearers will be, Drew Zakrzewski, Christopher Dorsett, Derek Simpson, Bradley Dorsett, Justin Simpson, Jordan Dorsett, Ross Dorsett and Nathan Heim. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Dr. Roy Lauter, Wilmore, Kentucky officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 12 noon until the service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Hope International Ministries, 409 Akers Drive, Wilmore, KY 40390.
