Mary Elizabeth Powell, a native of Maben, MS and a longtime resident of Mobile, died on Thursday. Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Clardy, mother Jewell Crowson Clardy, step-mother, Plummie Clardy, daughter, Susie Powell and brothers, John Whitt and Boyd Clardy. She is survived by her husband, Rufus Powell, Jr.; daughter, Tina Holcomb (Randy); son, Jason Powell (Amanda); grandchildren, John Holcomb, Jr. (Katie), Caleb Holcomb (Rachel), Gabriel Riley and Hunter Powell; brothers and sisters, Nita Holden (David), Marzell Blake Ellis-deceased, Nellie Long, Betty Weeks (Everett), Peggy Clardy, Edd Clardy (Francis) Gerald Clardy (Virginia) and Sam Whitt (Charlene), and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 2 pm. Visitation will start at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
