Mary John "Johnnie" Schneider
Mary John "Johnnie" Schneider, age 92, born in Laurel, MS in 1925 and a resident of Mobile, AL since 1945, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 28, 2017. She died peacefully at home. She is survived by her son, George Gray Schneider, her son, John Robert Schneider and his wife, Amy, of Montgomery, AL, and daughter, Ann Elizabeth Cox and her husband, Greg, of Falls Church, VA. Her grandchildren include Brian Schneider, Lisa Austin, Christina Schneider, Mark Schneider and wife, Lauren, Jocelyn Fulmer and her husband, Eric, and Ben Cox and his wife, Caroline. She is also survived by her sister, Bernice Thompson and her husband, Mandart, her brother, Bill Chancellor and his wife, Lila, and her sister, Annie Kate Fetzer. She was especially proud of her three great-grandchildren, Vivian Gray Fulmer, Max Gregory Fulmer and John Dewitt Cox. Her husband of 68 years preceded her in death in November, 2014. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. After World War II, she married Hans Schneider of North Bellmore, NY in 1946 and settled in Mobile, AL where they raised their family. She was a faithful member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church since 1954, where she served as the Nursery Coordinator for many years. She loved sharing her crocheting, knitting and other crafts with friends and family. She was a friend to all who knew her and she will be missed by all who loved her. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 10, 2017, at 12:30PM in the Chapel of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, Mobile, AL. The family will begin receiving friends at 12:00 Noon.
