Mary Williams, age 87, of Mobile, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018, at Springhill Medical Center.
Mary was an active member of Spring Hill Baptist Church for over 40 years. Her compassion and drive to help others is what inspired her to be a nurse. She served the Mobile area as a nurse for many years at numerous hospitals and doctor's offices. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving wife for 67 years, devoted mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Williams-Harrison; parents, Walter and Ollie Mae Harrison; and sisters, Ethel Mae Harrison and Sara Harrison-Dart.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Williams Sr.; son, Norman Williams Jr. (Billye); grandchildren, Jessica Williams-Ganey (Forrest), Jennifer Roberds (Jake), Meredith Harrison-Lincoln (Alex), Jillian Hollingshead (Kevin), and Peter Harrison Jr. (Haley); 6 great-grandchildren, Keller Allen, Elsie and Marnie Hollingshead, Eleanor and Elliott Roberds and Alex Marie Ganey; sister, Dorthey Boutwell; brother, Walter E. Harrison; and numerous other family members.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 7, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
