Matthew Holder

Matthew Parker Holder, 21, of Mobile, AL, passed away on July 21, 2018 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born June 30, 1997, the son of Matthew and Candace (Machen) Holder. He was a 2015 graduate of Shelton Academy and was currently enrolled at Bishop State Community College where he was studying financial engineering. He was currently employed by C & S Electrical. Parker was a very kind hearted young man who loved his family and his pets more than anything.
Parker was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Benton Holder and his maternal grandfather, Michael Steven Machen. He is survived by his mother, Candace Holder Holmes; stepfather, Christopher David Holmes; sister, Miranda Machen Holder; and brother, Brandon Norwood. He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Doug and Sandra (Machen) Kearley of Coden; and his paternal grandparents, James and Brenda Holder of Semmes. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles; Robby and Angela (Machen) Grice, Nick Holder, and Scott and Jenna (Holder) Robinson; his cousins; Zackary Grice, Destin Holder, Karlee Burns, Connor Burns, and Jackson Robinson; as well as many close step relatives, friends and other family members. Lastly, he leaves behind his little cousin, Cayden Farmer, who affectionately called him "Partner".
Cremation arrangements were handled by Hughes Funeral Home, hughesfuneralhome.org. Memorial visitation and services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 2-3 pm with memorial chapel service beginning at 3pm.at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Rd. Mobile, AL 36619. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations in Parker's name to the Animal Rescue Foundation, 6140 Rangeline Rd, Theodore, AL 36582.
