Matthew Scott Lami, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 at the age of 39. Matthew served his country as a member of the United States Army from November 6, 2001 until October 13, 2009 when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. Matthew enjoyed listening to his favorite bands, watching Bama football and fishing. He was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Mary K. Lami; maternal grandparents, Luverne and Thelma Bazor; his aunt, Marian Lami; cousins, Willie Sam Tynes and Joshua Cromer; and his fiancee', Arielle Bragg. His survivors include his parents, Vincent and Rosa Bazor Lami; sisters, Jennifer Lami-Mixon (Brad), Rebecca Lami (Andrew Sweet) and Sarah Lami Terkeurst (Josh); his beautiful children, Madison Lee Lami and Dresden Justin Lami; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will be Tuesday at 2:30 PM in Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 State Highway 225, Spanish Fort, AL 36527.
