Mavis M. Parnell, a native of Summerdale, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile County, died at home on Thursday. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Michael McCawley and Nancy Hancock. She is survived by her husband, Jim Parnell; two children, Patrick (Erica) McCawley and Terry (Janean) McCawley; one sister, Evada Steffler; two brothers, Douglas Morgan and Dalton Morgan; six grandchildren, lisa Davis, Kimberly Ortiz, Jennifer Chandler, Jason McCawley, Anna Lanier and Matthew McCawley; nine great grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 2 pm. Visitation will start at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
