Maxine Daughdrill

Maxine Hillman Daughdrill passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord on October 6, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ike F. Daughdrill, daughter, Marcia D. Burns, parents William L. and Celia Brewer Hillman, six brothers and two sisters. Maxine is survived by her daughters, Francine Davis (Don) of Theodore, AL and Kerri Doss (Michael) of Daphne, AL; Five grandchildren, Danielle Smith Brown (Steven), Jeremy Burns, Celia Doss, Jana Burns and Kristen Doss Rimmer (Matthew); Eight great-grandchildren, William Brown, Sara Catherine Brown, Emily Brown, Connor Allatto, Presley Pierce, Madeline Bodan, Madden O'Neal, and James Rimmer. Maxine was deeply involved in her church and together with her husband, Ike, were among the first members of First Independent Southern Methodist Church. Remaining in the same location, she was a member of Tree of Life Christian Church until her passing. In her earlier years, she ministered to the sick and to the shut-ins offering her talents of hair dressing, preparing meals or helping with housekeeping. She was a true servant of God. Maxine enjoyed sewing, and playing cards or domino's with her family and friends and watching Alabama football. Holidays were extra special when she made a pot of seafood gumbo and everyone's favorite sweets! She was a faithful friend to many and loved by all who knew her. The family would like to thank Pastor Randy Lowe and the members of Tree of Life Christian Church for the outpouring of love shown to our mother when she could no longer attend worship services. We also thank the staff of Saad's Hospice Retreat for providing respect and compassion to our mother and to our family.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 12 noon. The family will receive friends from 11am until service time Monday at the funeral home.
