Maxine Napier

Maxine Wright Napier, age 94, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 peacefully at her home in Orange Beach, AL where she was surrounded by her children. Mrs. Napier was self-employed in the hotel and restaurant industry. After retirement Maxine and Shelton moved to Saraland and later to Orange Beach. Services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Mobile, AL. Visitation will be from 10:30 - 12:00. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Shelton Napier; father, Angus Wright; mother, Quinnie V. Hardy; step-father, James D. Hardy; sister, Deana Cooper; and grand-daughter, Terri Lynn Thigpen. Survivors include her son, Damon Napier of Orange Beach, AL; daughters, Sandy Sawyer of Mobile, AL; Pamela Mills of Tuscaloosa, AL and Jennifer Jo Smith (Bob) of Foley, AL; niece, Fran Fuchs (Jim) and 3 great nieces; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was known as "Mama Napier" to almost everyone she came into contact with. She was a talented artist and loved to paint. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude, American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
