Melba Patterson

Melba Irene Morgan Patterson, a native of Birmingham, Alabama and a longtime resident of Saraland, Alabama passed away peacefully on April 14, 2015 surrounded by family. She retired from International Paper Company with over 30 years of dedicated service. Melba was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Eudell Morgan and Leasle Dixie Irene Ray Morgan; brother, Ray E. Morgan; sister, Betty M. Porter; cherished husband of over 50 years Jerry Walter Patterson. She is survived by daughter, Ladye (Alan) Alford; son, Larry Walter Patterson; granddaughter, Morgan Alford; grandson, Preston Alford; and very special nieces and nephews. Special thanks to MIMC SICU for loving care and attention shown to Melba and her family that was above and beyond their duty. Graveside services and interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Patterson to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org.
