Melissa Wilkins

Melissa Burgett Wilkins, 39, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on December 25, 2019, at home. She was born to parents Raymond Perry Burgett and Marion (Ginger) Virginia Burgett, on July 27, 1980 in Mobile, Alabama.

She attended IMS, Davidson High School and the University of Mobile.

Melissa was an avid advocate and caregiver to her mother and grandmother. She adored her daughter, Blakely Marian Wilkins, and was passionate about being a mother. Her kind heart and love for others was a gift to all she met.

Melissa is survived by Roger Francis Wilkins, Jr., husband, Raymond Perry Burgett, father, Michelle Burgett Latimer, sister, Mary Burgett Ashley, sister, Judith (Judy) Sullivan, aunt, four nephews and one niece, and many cousins. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her loving mother, Marion (Ginger) Virginia Burgett. She is also preceded in death by Franklin and Mildred Burgett, grandparents, Muriel and James Massey, grandparents, and Gail Smith, aunt.

The family has entrusted Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with the arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for December 31, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Pastor Christine Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers are: Wesley Wenters Ashley, Emory Davis Latimer, Roy Thomas Latimer III, William Tine Latimer, Bradley Sullivan, and Sean Sullivan.
