Miriam Eliza Thomas Nichols, a native of Shuqualak, MS and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Walter Nichols her parents, James William Thomas and Almah May Jones Nichols and her daughter, Katherine Nichols Ponder her brothers, James Thomas and Gene Thomas and her sister, Ella Mae Thomas White. She is survived by two children, Terry Nichols Dan Watson and Don Sue Nichols five grandchildren, Stephen Sarah Nichols, Mark Nichols, Jonathan Nichols, Lori Beth Watson Matthew Graham and Katie Watson Zachary Smith six greatgrandchildren, Finnegan Nichols, Florence Nichols, Preston Nichols, Chloe Nichols, Tate Graham and Cole Graham her siblings, Paul Clo Thomas Ronald Brenda Thomas and Helen Thomas Bowman other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Friday, November 14, 2014 at 12:00 Noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mrs. Nichols name be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
