Mona Lea Hards Norfleet, 82, born in Hamlin, KS, a longtime resident of Theodore Al, died peacefully on Sunday the 15th of December 2019. Mrs. Norfleet was pre-deceased by her husband of 59 ½ years, Buster, and her brother, James. She is survived by two sons, James (Lori) and Scott (Shannon); six grandchildren, Nicole, Bobbi, Angela (Kile), Scott (Laura), Danielle, and Aaron; five great-grandchildren, Henzley, Rhys, Collins, Jaxon, and Grayson; her sister, Ruby and her brother, Louis (Janie), other relatives and friends. The wife of a 20-year United States Air Force Veteran, Mrs. Norfleet lived in Kansas, Mississippi, Georgia, New York and the Island of Guam where she met many people whom she still kept in touch with over the years. She worked for the telephone company for many years in Kansas and in Alabama thereafter. She also worked for the City of Mobile from where she retired after over 15 years. Since retirement, Mrs. Norfleet continued to stay active in numerous bowling leagues over the years and was an accomplished bowler. She also stayed very busy on their small farm maintaining the landscaping on the property keeping the loveliest Rose Bushes in the neighborhood. Mrs. Norfleet enjoyed Line Dancing and was a member of the Grand Bay Senior Center Line Dancers where she made many lasting friendships and memories. Funeral Services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Wednesday the 18th of December, 2019 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, the 17th of December, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
