Monica Walker

Monica Griffith Walker passed from this life to eternal life on April 14, 2017 at the age of 62. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Griffith Jr., mother, Fredna Griffith, husband, Ladon Walker, brothers, Eddie Griffith and Joe Griffith, and sister, Jean Childers. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Swinney, son, Joey Young (Amber Clements), grandsons, Jimmy (Brittney) Swinney and Nick Young, granddaughter, Kyndal Young (Kyle Reeves), sisters, Pat (Jeff) Peiser, Jewel (Gary) Alford, Joann (Mike) Jackson; brother Skip (Ramona) Griffith, special friend, Clarke Haller, many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Monica was a very strong willed woman that always gave of herself. She had many struggles and heartaches in life but she did her best to always trust God. Her Bible was tattered and worn. She loved her family and friends dearly. She enjoyed nature, traveling to the mountains, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, word search books, and shopping. She will continue to be loved by many and will always be remembered and missed. Her temporary struggles and heartaches are now eternal peace and joy. Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home until the service time at 2:00 pm from the Chapel. Reverend Ellen Lesley will officiate. Pallbearers are Jimmy Swinney, Kyle Reeves, Jeff Peiser, Gary Alford, Mike Jackson and Shelby Walker. Graveside services are to follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
