Monta Sue Huffman

We are sad to announce the death of Monta Sue Hunt Huffman (84), of Mobile, AL. She passed away in her home on November 22, 2022 after a brief illness.

Born September 2, 1938 in Elkview, WV, she was the daughter of the late William (Bud) and the late Jennie Hunt. She has been reunited with her parents and all of her nine siblings.

Monta loved talking to her friends on Facebook, watching Hallmark movies, singing along with musicals (out of key) and never met a child she didn't love (and they instantly loved her back). A quick trip into the grocery store was always much longer than expected. She made any stranger an instant friend, much to the dismay of her family waiting for her in the car.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Larry Huffman; four children, Sheryl Huffman of Mobile, AL, Dennis Huffman of Crosby, TX, Ellisa Clinton and husband, Cary of Mobile, AL and Michele Batiste and husband, Bob of Morgantown, WV; four grandchildren, Nathan, Bryan (Amanda), Ben (Sam) and Claire ( and five great-grandchildren, Avery, Kadence, Parker, Reilly and Mary Jo.

Monta, wife, Mom, Nana and GG, will be missed by all who knew her and will forever hold a place in our hearts.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 5, 2022 at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Monday, prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at the funeral home
