Nella Rae Tiny Scarbrough Merriman, a native of Yellow Pine, AL and current resident of New Bern, NC, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at Pruitt HealthcareNeuse Campus. She had moved to New Bern, NC 15 years ago to be close to her son, Ralph Merriman. Nella was preceded in death by her parents, James Albert Scarbrough and Lottie McIlwain Scarbrough her husband, Earl R. Merriman sister, Helen Scarbrough and her only son, Ernest Ralph Merriman. She is survived by her sister, Thelma Wilson two granddaughters, Rene Mattera and Ashley Portman two greatgrandsons, Jaydin Portman and Peyton Mattera, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
