Norman Willis Peters, who served in the US Army during WWII and received the Purple Heart, died Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the age of 96. Norman, a native of Belforest, AL, was a longtime resident of Mobile, AL. He was a member and deacon of First Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Sarah Peters; and his brothers, Raymond, Amiel, Morris and Melvin Peters. He is survived by his sister, Mary Belle Lockler; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Norman's name may be made to the First Christian Church Stained Glass Window Fund, 1419 Government Street, Mobile, AL 36604. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM. Graveside services and interment will follow at 2:00 PM in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
