Norris Lee Rester
August 19th, 1946-April 2nd, 2023
Norris was born and raised in Theodore, Al. and resided in Irvington, Al. Norris served his country proudly in the Vietnam war. He was a very proud veteran of the Army division.
He is survived by; his wife, Joyce Davis Rester, of 40 years; two daughters, Robin (Kenneth) Blackwell, and Renee' (Reubin) Hudson; five grandchildren, Lindsey (Tyler) Motes, Sidney (Justin) Sinde, Taylor Thames, Emiley Thames, and Ryan Adams; five great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Benjamin, Silas, Lily, and Thomas; and many other relatives and friends.
Norris was a previous deacon and an elder of Forward Church (formerly Bayou La Batre Church of God) for 45 years. He was known as the "Mint Man" at church. If you needed a mint for church, he would hook you up with one or two or maybe twenty. He passed them out by the handful. He had one pocket saved for Pastor Justin and one pocket saved for Pastor Brandon.
If you plan on attending his celebration of Life. Please wear RED in honor of his favorite color. Visitation will be Wednesday 4-7 P.M. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place Thursday at 10 A.M. at Forward Church.
