Elaine Newburn

Patricia "Elaine" Dozier Newburn was born on July 28th, 1954, in Mobile, Alabama. She went to be with the Lord on January 21st, 2025. "Not long after the snow started to fall on that beautiful morning!", where she passed peacefully at the Retreat by Saad's Hospice. She was a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama.

Always known as Elaine or "Lanie". She attended Davidson high school for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. Her senior year she was bussed to Murphy high school and graduated class of '72. She worked as a cashier/stocker in retail.

Knowing prices, parts and aisles like the back of her hand. Carwie Ace Hardware was one of her most beloved jobs as she worked there for many years. She learned her customers by name and enjoyed helping the public most of all.

Elaine had a true passion and love for sewing and took many lessons. She was very talented at making dresses with traditional English smocking. She made many pieces for her children and others.

Elaine grew up in church, she rededicated her life in 2012, and her faith grew even stronger. She went on a mission trip to New Orleans in 2017. She had great faith and confidence in the Lord, which she always found time to share with anyone.

Elaine is preceded in death by; her husband, Francis H. Newburn; her parents, Donal M. Dozier and Beverly Ann McClinton Dozier; and her younger sister, Donna Lynn Dozier.

Elaine leaves to cherish her memory; her loving daughter, Heather (Gary) N. Donohoo of Mobile County; her 2 grandchildren, Jade and Emma Claire; her son, Christopher J. Newburn of Mobile County; her 3 grandchildren, Vada, Ava, and Marley; her sister, Joyce (Ron) D. Wallace of Baldwin County; her first cousin, Jeff (Becky) McClinton of Mobile County; and her nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Elaine's family and friends will celebrate her memory with a graveside service on Wednesday January 29th, 2025, at 12 P.M. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11 A.M. until 12 P.M. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
