Devoted wife and mother, Patricia V. McNider, ended her courageous battle with ALS on Monday, May 2, 2022. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family. She was born November 1, 1943, to Ervin and Les Vereen and was a caring, older sister to Rusty (Gail) Vereen, Jim (India) Vereen, and Ricky (Angie) Vereen. Shortly after graduation she was set up on the best blind date ever where she met, and married three months later, Richard McNider. The two began their 56-year love story by traveling the world before settling down in the states to have their two daughters, Renée (Michael) Cornelison and Donna (Louis) Hare.
Her greatest passions were her granddaughter, Christianne Hare, grandsons, Jackson Cornelison and Wesley (Jessie) Cornelison, and great-granddaughter, Marceline Cornelison. She was an avid card maker and crafter that created numerous handmade cards, counted cross-stitched masterpieces, hand-painted ceramics, and decoupaged bird houses. She was also known to be a card shark and loved a good game of canasta with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lesbia Irene Vereen. She is survived by her brothers, husband, daughters, grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 7 from 11:00-12:00 at Mobile Memorial Gardens with services immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association or to the ALS Association.
