GLIDDEN
Heavens gates opened and welcomed Mrs. Patsy Morris Glidden into Jesus's arms on Tuesday, October 24. She was ninety years old and a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Carolyn Morris and her brothers Albert and George Morris. She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Harold Vernon Glidden, daughter Carol Glidden {Frank (Toppie)} Taylor, grandchildren Elizabeth Grace Taylor and Frank Harry Taylor III (Trey), and many nieces and nephews.
Patsy graduated from Murphy high school in 1945. As soon as she graduated she began working at South Central Bell where she became a supervisor. She met, fell in love, and married Harold on October 15, 1947 at Dauphin Way Baptist Church. They were longtime members of the church and were involved in many church activities. Several years later God blessed them with a daughter who was the light of their life. Later, Patsy worked at First Independent Methodist School and for Dr. Eugene Saiter as his office manager. After retiring, she devoted the rest of her life to loving and enjoying her two grandchildren. Patsy's life demonstrated an example of true love and devotion to her husband by taking the role of his caregiver later in his life. She will be remembered for her commitment to Christ, love for her family and friends, and wonderful sense of humor. The family would like to thank Springhill Home Health and Hospice and their sitter, Luanne Marques for their many years of service to both Harold and Patsy. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 12 noon at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will start at 10:30 am. Pallbearers will be: John Bassett, Chip Turner, Pete Wilkins, Doug Sawyer, Clinton Greenwood, and Pat Greenwood. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
