Paul Bullock

December 31, 1924 — April 11, 2020

Paul Richard Bullock, a native of Laurel, MS and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020, at the age of 95. He graduated from Shady Grove High School and attended the University of Alabama. He served in the US Army during WW2, then served in the US Air Force, and worked at Brookley Field. He founded and operated Belmar Furniture and Appliance in Mobile, AL, for over 65 years. He had a very strong work ethic. He delighted in selling and working on appliances. He would often sit in the warehouse and talk with customers and his many friends that would stop by. He never met a stranger. His hobbies included flying airplanes, fishing, boating, teaching his grandchildren and great grandchildren, traveling, watching the news and weather channel, and spending time with his family and friends. He dearly loved Jesus, his life, and his wife “Betty”, whom he was blessed to spend 73 years with. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Richard Bullock and Nannie Melissa Barnett Bullock; his son, Bruce Douglas Bullock; two brothers, Doyle and Maglie Bullock; one sister, Elouise Bullock Craft; two great-grandsons, Grayson Russell and David Baldwin.His survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Jean “Betty” Sepman Bullock; three daughters, Connie Bullock (William) Glennon; Paula Bullock Faircloth and Gayle Bullock (Kevin) Marlin; one son, Gary (Sherry) Bullock; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Annette Bullock Hoover, and many other loving relatives and friends. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, private family services are being held. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Mr. Bullock’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place #260, Memphis, TN 38105.
