Pauline Estelle Stanfill Broadus, 92, of Mobile, AL passed away on May 17, 2021 at a local hospital after an accident in her home. She was born in Wetumka, OK and grew up in Tennessee before moving to Mobile, AL. While in Mobile, she graduated from Murphy High School and later earned an associate degree from Bishop State Community College. She held a career in the U.S. Civil Service then later in life attained her LPN license and worked as a nurse. She also lived in many places other during her lifetime: Okinawa, Japan, El Paso, TX (Biggs AFB), Wiesbaden, Germany, Limestone, ME (Loring AFB), and Belleville, IL (Scott AFB).
Even after retirement she continued to work as private duty nurse with individual clients close to her home, consistent with her desire to care for and help everyone she could. She enjoyed collecting stamps, gardening, cooking, bird watching, and visiting with family every Sunday. She was incredibly kind, caring, and dedicated, receiving praise from nearly everyone she knew as being among the most thoughtful people they had ever met.
She was preceded in death by her mother Bessie V. Hall, father Henry I. Stanfill, brother Joe N. Stanfill, daughter Judy B. Tracy, and grandson Dustin J. Dupre. She is survived by her daughter Debra B. Dupre, son Bradley V. Broadus, and grandchildren Holli R. Webb, Shannon K. Webb, and Reuben P. Dupre.
Pauline will be dearly missed by all of her friends and family. She is now in the care of her Heavenly Father and reunited with all of the loved ones that went before her. Her kindhearted personality will live on in those that had the pleasure of having known her. On behalf of everyone, we love you and thank you for all of the great memories, they will be cherished forever!
Visitation will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 1-2 PM followed by graveside services and interment in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
