Peggy Grice

Peggy B. Grice, age 89, of Irvington, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019, at her home.
Mrs. Grice was a member of First Baptist Church of Irvington. She was a faithful and devoted wife, supporting her husband, Hillery, in several business ventures, including Roy E. Ray Airport in Irvington. If you knew her, you knew how caring and giving she was. She was always doing everything she could to take care of other's needs. Peggy was affectionately known as "Airport Mom" to many. She prepared and served countless meals to family and friends at the airport. To know Peggy was to love her and she will be greatly missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Hillery W. Grice; son, Jody Grice; parents, Richard and Alyne Barnes.
Survivors include her children, Robby Grice (Angela), Kim Welton, and Phillip Grice (Lisa); grandchildren, Hailee Butts (Jeremy), Hilary Welton, Meredith Welton, Zack Grice, Alex Diemert, and Savannah McNeil; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Madison Butts and Sam and Caroline Welton; sister, Kathleen Reeves; brother, Bobby Barnes (Barbara); and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Phyliis Robbins and Tershikeya "Tee" Jones for the devoted and loving care they provided to Mrs. Grice.
Pallbearers will be Zack Grice, Alex Diemert, Chris McNeil, Kyle Carden, Kurt Carden, and Steven Ross.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019, from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Griffin and Bill Ross officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 6, 2019, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
