Peggy Sutherland

Peggy Ann Sutherland, 71, - a resident of Mobile, Alabama died Monday, February 6, 2017, in Covenant Hospice at Providence Hospital. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband James W. Sutherland and her parents Kacie C. and Elva Sue Laird. Peggy is survived by two children, Tracie S. Raley (Marion) and James W. "Billy" Sutherland, Jr.; her brother Joseph C. Laird (Terri Lynn); two grandchildren, Kathryn Nichole Raley and Joseph A. Raley(Rachael) and one great-grand child Joseph A. Raley, Jr. Peggy is also survived by nieces Tiffney Sheree Kizziah (Joel) and Rustin Olivia Howard (Hunter) and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Her cheerfulness, kindness and quick wit brought smiles to many faces and will be sorely missed. As her niece Becky said, " …a smile no matter what, a laugh to make your day, an ear to always listen and a heart as big as the moon!" Peggy worked in various positions with the Mobile Housing Board until her retirement in 2010. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Peggy with the American Lung Association for COPD research, PO Box 10009, Mobile, AL, 36610-Phone 251-457-3008. Visitation and service will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, February 9th, 2017 starting at 2PM. Interment will be at Springhill Memorial Gardens at a later date.
