Pennie Page Murrill Taylor, age 58, died peacefully on May 8, 2015 at her home in Mobile, AL. Pennie was born December 14, 1956 in Mobile, AL, the daughter of the late Patsy Stewart O'Neal and the late Leonard Dotson Murrill. Pennie thoroughly enjoyed bowling, reading and spending time with family. In 1979, Pennie married the love of her life, David Curtis Taylor, Sr. to whom she devoted her life for 36 years. In addition to raising their three children, she volunteered wherever she was needed; she devoted and enjoyed giving her time to family and anyone who needed her. She is survived by her husband, David Curtis Taylor, Sr.; her daughter, Nicole (Jason) Hughes of Mobile, AL; her sons, David (Paula) Taylor of Satsuma, AL and Johnny (Jessica) Taylor of Mobile, AL; two brothers, David (Diane) Wike of Saraland, AL and Paul Murrill of Mobile, AL; her loving step-father, Ottis O'Neal, who raised her from the age of 5. Pennie was very close to her sister-in-law, Wanda (Mark) Malone; Wanda was the sister she never had. Pennie also leaves surviving two additional sisters-in-law, Denise (Bob) Stafford and Gwen (Mark) Drinkard whom she dearly loved. She had 14 grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart, Karis Hughes and Kayla (Gregory) Carroll; Alyssa Olmstead, Megan (Brandon) Summerlin, Ryan Hughes, Joseph Bergeron, Curtis, Zachary, Luke, Caden, Brian, Bryanna, Bryson and Bryleigh Taylor; 4 great-grandchildren Brayden Summerlin, Carson Carroll, Parson Phan and Jaxon Summerlin; two dear friends, Cecil Gartman and Joyce McDuffie; other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers will be Jason Hughes, Ryan Hughes, Gregory Carroll, Zachary Taylor, Joseph Bergeron and Bob Stafford. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Robert Proulx and My Phan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
