Ralph Ely Hyde, 85 beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather was called to eternal rest on November 19, 2020. He entered this world on April 26, 1935 in his beloved Roatan, Honduras.
Born to Orobia Hyde and Helen Wood Hyde he is preceded in death by his parents, 8 siblings and his son-in-law Lloyd J. Zeller.
He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn A. Hyde, daughters Rhonda H Zeller & Sherri L. Hyde, Grandchildren Nicholas H. Zeller (Elisabeth), Stephanie C. Zeller, Christie M. Zeller, Great-grand-son Trent Zeller and nieces and nephews.
Ralph was born on the island of Roatan, Honduras. His memories of his early childhood were ones he never forgot and shared with joy and pride. He moved to the United States at age 15 and spent most of his adult life in New Orleans and Southern Louisiana where he met the love of his life Marilyn Auzine Hyde. They were Inseparable in their commitment to each other for 68 years. Ralph was a family man, kind, loyal and always thought of others before himself. He was fiercely protective of his family.
He loved fishing and gardening from an early age and loved his dogs and all animals. Ralph proudly served in the United States Army and loved this country.
A committal service will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at 1:30 PM at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
