Rebecca Thompson Bennett - Aug. 8, 1951 - Feb. 11, 2016

Rebecca (Becky) Thompson Bennett, 64, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, February 11, 2016. She was preceded in her home-going by her brother, Glenn Reynolds Thompson; her daughter, Kristin Leigh Bennett; and her "daddy", James Reynolds (Rink) Thompson. Until their reunion in heaven, she leaves behind her loving family: Her husband of over 45 years, Vernon J. Bennett and her oldest daughter Amy Bennett; her mother, Helen Zirlott Thompson, two sisters, Carlotta Thompson and Tena Faggard (Mark); two brothers-in-law, Joe Bennett (Rhonda) and Neil Bennett (Dena); six nieces, four nephews, six great nieces, four great nephews, one great, great niece, and many other dearly loved family members and friends.
Becky was a life-long member of Zirlott Road United Methodist Church. Everyone who knew Becky knew that she loved to laugh and "cut-up". She loved people and loved witnessing to them of the love and comfort of Jesus - especially during difficult times in life. She was a gifted seamstress. Many of her family and friends have been blessed with her hand-made baby clothes and blankets. Her love for Christmas was displayed through her exquisitely decorated home and trees.
Services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Monday, Feb 15, 2016. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 with the service beginning at 2:00 with Rev. John Simonson officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews, Joe Ray Bennett, Andrew Faggard, John Mark Faggard, Noah Faggard, dear friend (she referred to as her "son") Terry Saathoff, and David Esfeller. Honorary Pallbearer, Jay Beck.
