Rebecca Lois Patterson Smith, a native of Jackson, TN and longtime resident of Theodore, AL, died Friday, October 7, 2016 at the age of 82. She was a retired Supervisor for the Social Security Administration, a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Theodore and taught Sunday School for approximate 40 years. She loved to travel and visited every state in the Continental United States. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben Raybon Patterson and Pansy Crow Patterson; and her husband, Ebb Claude Smith. Her survivors include two sons, David (Rhonda) Smith and Paul (Gina) Smith; her daughter, Claudia Smith Pittman; three brothers, Donald; Fred and his wife, Ann; and Larry and his wife, Deanna; two sisters, Patricia and Clara; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Please meet the family at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Wednesday by 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Mrs. Smith's name be made to First Baptist Church of Theodore, 7125 Bellingrath Road, Theodore, AL 36582.
