Richard Boone

Richard "Rick" Douglas Boone was born on December 17, 1956, and peacefully left this earthly world on November 4, 2022. Rick is survived by his wife of almost 45 years, Sue Vanden Bosch Boone, daughters Lynn Worley (Jason), Jessica Boone (Chad) and son, Jason Boone. He also leaves behind the apples of his eye, granddaughters, Bayleigh, Nona, Bella, Clara, Juniper, River, and best friend and grandson, Van, brothers Don Boone (Jamie) and Randy Boone (Becky). He was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Sue and Max Boone, and granddaughter, Ava.

Rick lived a life nurtured by the love of Jesus Christ, banana-less pudding, trains and Alabama football (Roll Tide). He could often be found with his nose in a book about computer hacking, taking apart and rebuilding clocks or anything mechanical, listening to Janis Joplin, sitting and playing on the floor for hours with his grandson or bragging endlessly about his children and grandchildren.

Rick devoted his life to constant prayer; prayers for his family, prayers for his church members, prayers for his friends and prayers for every person that crossed his path. His love for ministering to people around him and his love for Christ was endless. Joy and compassion were never-ending and apparent to all that met him.

Psalm 9:2 says, "I will be glad and glory in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High." We know that he is now singing and praising, released from suffering, and by God's grace and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we will all be together again someday.

The family asks that in place of black clothes, you wear the colors that make you feel the happiest to celebrate Rick's life.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service time, at Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6040 Three Notch Road, Mobile, Alabama.
