Richard Leon Bush, a native of Butler, AL and longtime resident of Mobile, AL passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the age of 77. Mr. Bush was a US Air Force Veteran. After retiring from Lance, Inc., he and his wife had a booth at the Flea Market in Mobile. His hobbies included, fishing, bowling, hunting, golf, reading and gardening. He was an avid Alabama Football fan.
Mr. Bush was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Weldon Bush, Sr. and Lizzie Annie Land Bush, and his brothers, Aubrey Weldon Bush, Jr. and James Bush. His survivors include his wife, Yvonne Curry Bush; his daughter, Diane Bush Taylor; two sons, Richard A. (Kathy) Bush and Leon Gayle (Katti) Bush; his brother, Dennis Bush; four sisters, Frances Bush (Charlie) Houlditch, Linda Bush Guess; Cathy Bush (Wayne) Wainwright and Barbara Bush (Steve) Alley; eight grandchildren, Amy (Jared) Rogers; Joshua (Robyn) Watford, Meredith (Lynn) Smith, Emily (Chad) Faulkner, Leon "Leroy" (Amy) Bush, Leigh Anne (Ricky) Latner, Christopher Bush and Megan Bush; ten great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Mr. Bush's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the physicians, nurses and staff of Mobile Infirmary Hospital and Gentiva Hospice for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mr. Bush's name be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Funeral services, officiated by Brother Percy Peters and Brother Mike Jemison, will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening, June 18, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL 36605. The US Air Force Honor Guard will conduct graveside honors.
