Robert Sholes

August 7, 1936 - May 15, 2017

Robert Frank Sholes, Sr., a native of Trussville, Alabama, and current resident of Theodore, Alabama, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at the age of 80. Bob was owner of S&S Sprinkler Company for 40 years until he retired in 1995. He went on to purchase a local Honda shop, A&B Cycle, where he worked for the next 20 years.
Bob enjoyed many hobbies including motorcycles, road trips in the RV, fishing, painting, NASCAR, building and flying model airplanes and HO trains.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Lawton and Helen Sholes; his brother Thomas Sholes (Delene); and his two oldest sons, Robert F. Sholes, Jr. and Stacy Flynn Sholes. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Elaine Mixon Sholes; his son Lawton Lance Sholes (Lindsey Lou); daughter Lindsey Helen Sholes; his daughter-in-law Kimberley Brewer Sholes (Stacy); his daughter Tracy Mixon Hooper (Ted); his son Todd Mixon (Michele); his daughter Wendy Mixon Egger (Jim); his son Brad Mixon; and 17 grandchildren; along with many other friends and relatives.

Visitation for Robert Frank Sholes, Sr. will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service from the Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, Bob's favorite charities were St. Jude's Children's Hospital and USA Women's and Children's Hospital NICU Unit.
