Robert Stockton, Sr.

Mr. Robert Leland (Bob) Stockton, Sr. died peacefully in Little Sisters of the Poor Nursing Home on March 6, 2018 in Mobile, Alabama at the age of 86.
Bob is survived by his children, Debbie Hyland (Charles) of Panama City, Florida, Robert L. Stockton, Jr. (Kelly) of Theodore, Alabama, Ronald Stockton of Mobile, Alabama, Bradley Stockton (Marie) of Theodore, Alabama and Daphne Gilliland (J.D.) of Theodore, Alabama, 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Hyland Stockton of Theodore, Alabama and his grandson, Bradley Stockton, Jr.
Bob was born on April 3, 1931 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Dorothy Schnitzius. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for six years and flew fighter planes during the Korean War. He met his wife, Jessie , of 57 years while training at the Pensacola NAS. Jessie was a nurse who volunteered with the American Red Cross serving the military in Pensacola. Bob enjoyed life on the water and spent many years fishing and hosting his holiday pier barbecues.
A funeral service for Bob will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, on Friday, March 9, 2018 at noon. Graveside service immediately following in Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 11:00-12:00 Friday.
