Robert Wiley, Sr.

Robert Glenn Wiley, Sr., age 89, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014. Mr. Wiley was a native of Lawrence County, TN. After completing school, he moved to Mobile, AL and worked at Brookley Field as a civil servant. He served in the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran. In 1956, Mr. Wiley moved to Huntsville, AL and worked for NASA as an Industrial Specialist until his retirement in 1975. Upon retiring, he kept a promise to his wife and returned her to Mobile, AL where they lived until his death. Mr. Wiley was a faithful member of the Moffett Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Mary Ethel Wiley, and his sister, Lucille Willis. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Hempfleng Wiley two sons, Glenn Susan Wiley and Rick Wiley three grandchildren, Rachel Chip Turner, Jennifer Jason Franklin and Chris Jackie Wiley seven greatgrandchildren nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mmgfuneralhome.com.
