Rod W. Cooke (69), a native of Montgomery, AL, passed away at home on Saturday, March 14, 2020. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Kitty Handey Cooke. He is also survived by his beloved children and grandchildren, Kerri & Wes Cooke and their children Wesley, Anna Witt and David; Leah C. and Michael Dees; and Erin & Lucas Cooke and their children Luke, Nora Claire and Gabe – all who loved him dearly. He is also survived by his older brother Ronnie Cooke.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bess & Clarence Cooke, his sisters Robyn C. Thompson and Mary Beth Cooke, and his brother Kevin Cooke.
Rod was a 1974 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Building Construction and was an instrumental part of Mobile’s construction industry growth for over 46 years.
Due to the current situation with the COVID-19 virus, a private graveside burial ceremony was held for family on Friday, March 20, 2020, at Mobile Memorial Gardens. A visitation and memorial gathering to celebrate Rod’s life will be held at a later date and location to be determined.
