GARDNER
Mar. 7 1952-Mar. 7 2017
Ronald Ray Gardner, better known as "Ron" or "Ronnie", departed this life Tuesday, March 7, 2017 on his 65th birthday. Ron was born on March 7, 1952 in Galveston, TX and a short time later became a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL. Back when he was able, he loved to go to Dauphin Way Baptist Church, as it was one of his favorite things to do. He also had a love for square dancing. He loved anything to do with Elvis Presley and always wanted to watch old westerns on TV, as well as Gomer Pyle. He loved his family and wanted nothing more than to be surrounded by each of them. Each time an aunt or an uncle passed away they took a little piece of his heart with them. He also worshipped the ground his brother walked on and looked forward to each and every visit with him. His survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Gardner Morris, of Mobile, AL; his brother, Carl Gardner (Cathie) of Vancleave, MS; his sister, Darlena Stratton (Andy) of Gautier, MS; two nieces, Crystal Button (Dodger) of Gautier, MS and Ivanna Stratton of Gautier, MS; two nephews, Alton Gardner (Katelin) of Vancleave, MS and Wesley Payne (Courtney) of Ocean Springs, MS; a very special cousin, Dianna Rhodes Lutrick of West Monroe, LA; other relatives and dear friends, Laura Kay McBride and Lisa Nicholas. He was preceded in death by many relatives over the years, including his father, Alton Ray Gardner, and others that were very near and dear to his heart were Uncle Huey Gene Bryant, Jr., Aunt Joyce Tucker and Aunt Mary Rhodes. Graveside services, officiated by Justin "JJ" Joiner, Associate Pastor of New Beginnings Worship Center in Moss Pt., MS, will be held Monday, March 13, 2017 at 12:00 Noon in Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Monday morning from 11:00 AM until service time. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
